aim: to construct a health and safety assessment of one or more photo shoots you will be conducting for my magaze considering all possible eventualities
- key skills : professional responsibility
- applying my knowledge of professional practices
- showing my forethought and evidence of planning an event
- using the opportunity to research independently for my individual situation
The health and safety at work act 1974
- had to be followed by all people who employed people
- h&s commission was created
NUJ
- represents uk journalists and protects their rights
- has a committee which meets just to discuss H&S
What types of risks may there be in a photo-shoot
- Epilepsy - someone could have a bad reaction to the camera flash causing them to have a fit
- tripping over wires, there could be a loose wire from the camera causing one of them to fall over and injure themselves
- fire - as there is electricity the wire could split and this could either burn/ electrocute them
- dropping equipment
risk: How great the chance that someone will be harmed by the hazard
the likely effects of the hazards are - major, serious or slight
what are the main hazards within the location of your photo-shoot?
- paint fumes that are on the white wall of Mr Salter's office, this could affect some people differently than others.

Aim: to further identify those involved in the creation of a printed magazine & investigate issues prior to production
EQUIPMENT - ISSUES AND SOLUTIONS
SD card- when the SD card eventually gets full I will need to back up the previous photos I have taken onto my laptop. If the SD card is too small or big for my computer I will then need to use a USB lead to import my pictures from my camera.
Tripod- My tripod could break and then I would have to either buy another one or get a spare leg from a hardware store.
Lighting- the lighting might be wrong so I would need to make sure that I bring different lenses and spare pieces
Lenses - There could be a problem with the lenses ( dirty or broken ) so I would need to replace in case of any problems.
PERSONNEL
Availability - People you would want to photo shoot may have made other arrangements and would not be available therefore would have to arrange for another day to photo shoot meaning that other tools may not be free so there could be a big dilemma.
A back up plan - If someone is not available I will have to think of a plan B and a second option
Clothing - The clothing might not suit the performer so we would either have to get other clothing or get another person
LOCATION
There might be a protest in town causing my photo shoot to be too busy

to consider what makes good market research and start of a draft of a questionnaire to help us plan our magazines.
How do you make an effective and helpful questionnaire?
A licker scale is a question with measures a respondent's towards a particular subject.
A question that uses numbers is known as a semantic-differential scale
Topics I will need to ask about in my questionnaire
Age
Gender
Genres of music
Layout of magazine
how often do you go to gigs
which venues have you been to
which venues would you want to go to
do you follow music blogs
if so, which one
preferred artists
favourite front cover from a range
style of photography
Representation of males and females
colour schemes of 2
music consumption
Version 3 of Audience Investigation Report - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7UhlZvshbjmM0c4SVl0WkJQSEU/edit?usp=sharing
- Make it clear to understand
- Always include an 'other' box
- Make sure that the question is in relation to the options
- Don't make the question too long - be to the point
- 5 or more options on every question
